A floral trail in Val d’Orcia

A trek on the discovery of spontaneous flowers

In April and May, the Val d’Orcia is adorned with a thousand colours. The yellow of Wild Mustard that prospers in the fields, the bright colours of Wild Tulips that cheerfully announce the arrival of spring, the pink fields of Sainfoin cultivated for fodder and the red of the French honeysuckle so popular with bees. Without forgetting the pathways bordered by Dog Rose and scented Broom and the numerous species of Wild Orchids that grow undisturbed in the overgrowth. All you need to do to enjoy all this is to take a walk from San Quirico d’Orcia, from the ancient Cappuccini Gate towards Pienza following the signals of path number 8, a two-hour walk over approximately 7 km which crosses the most beautiful countryside in the world. Along the itinerary, the generous nature interweaves seamlessly with the signs of humankind and the history of the places, creating a truly unique experience.
